This work represents a kiss; when any two forms touch at one point I like to think that it is a kiss that is actually given. This time I discovered this mysterious triangular element that was fixed on the wall and it looked like it was asking for a kiss, so I decided to make a triangular shape that it could kiss.
It belongs to my project ‘Conversation with the Building’, which was conceived of and completed at the Prairie Center of the Arts in Peoria, Illinois, where I spent three months as an artist-in-residence. The project consists of several site-specific installations that converse with architectural elements in the amazing attic of the old brick studio building (120 years old) that served as a rope factory until the 1970s.
